Sue’s Views

We were never designed to be alone but to live in relationship with others. Like it or not ….. your life affects other people. Your choices have an impact on your family ….. friends ….. workmates ….. neighbours etc. They are there for a reason. They will keep you grounded ….. and rub off any rough edges you have. But mostly they will support you and be there for you when you need them.

I love how the camellia is one of the most delicately beautiful blossoms ….. and yet it blooms during the harshest months of the year. What’s its secret? Only that it was created ‘for such a time as this’. If your circumstances seem harsh ….. remember your Father in Heaven knew about it before you did. But He has put into you His own Spirit ….. the same Spirit that raised Christ from death! If you try to do it in your own strength ….. you’ll fail. But if you allow His strength ….. life ….. and wisdom to flow through you ….. nothing can hold you back!

Sue’s Views 

Did you know that God created you for a specific and unique purpose? No one else can do what He designed you to do ….. and you can’t do what He designed someone else to do. That’s why it’s so important that we discover our own pathway. But ….. at the same time ….. you have gifts that others need. We are not designed to live separately ….. but to live in relationship with others whose gifts we can encourage and enhance. So there’s no point in comparing or envying! Your gift is just as valuable as everyone else’s so long as you use it for God. Receive your gift with thanksgiving ….. and then share it with others!

 ‘But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.’ 2 Cor 10:12

Are you feeling like you’re between a rock and a hard place? That’s miracle material! When you hit rock bottom the only way is up ….. but it also makes the best foundation! Lessons learned there will see you through any struggle or opposition. So keep pushing! Faith can move a mountain!

Is the way ahead looking a little unclear? Answers to prayer don’t always come as a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’ ….. sometimes it’s a ‘not now’ ….. sometimes it’s just silence. Remember that your life is a very small part of a very big picture. That doesn’t mean it’s not significant or important to God ….. it just means there may be things He needs to clear from the path before He gives you the ‘go ahead’! Always remember ….. he has your very best interests at heart ….. and where you are right now ….. is right where He wants you!

If your world has been turned upside down ….. and it feels like nothing will ever be the same ….. remember that ‘not even one sparrow will fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And you are far more valuable than a sparrow.’ He will provide for you while He is working out your situation. Even when we can’t see it ….. or feel it ….. He’s working! He never stops working!

Do you know someone who is struggling with life? People tend to isolate themselves when things get tough. Maybe you could be their ‘bridge over troubled water’. By reaching out and giving them an opportunity to talk …..you can make a huge difference. Don’t let your own inadequacy stop you. They often only need a listening ear!

In order to take this photo ….. I had to position myself so that the tree blocked the sun. Otherwise it would have been too bright. Obviously the sun is a lot bigger than the tree! I wonder what relatively small thing is blocking you from being able to receive God’s light? Shame from the past ….. a lie you  are believing ….. an idol of some sort you are putting before Him? Whatever it is ….. you need to see it in perspective. By simply taking one step ….. that thing will no longer be in the way ….. and God’s light will shine through to you.

How flexible are you? If plans change suddenly ….. does it throw you? If your routine is disrupted ….. can you adapt? Some of us are more task focussed than people focussed …..   and see people as interruptions to our ‘to do’ list. Others are so ‘go with the flow’ that nothing gets done! It helps to commit each day to God. He alone know the plans He has for us. If His ‘to do’ list is ticked ….. that’s a day well spent!

We all have a past! Some of it holds memories we regret and would rather forget. And some of it holds those precious golden memories we want to hold onto ….. and pass on to our loved ones. Both kinds are part of who we are now! Our loved ones can benefit as much from our mistakes ….. as from our glory moments. Don’t be afraid to share your story. It’s your finest lesson ….. and no one can argue with it!
