Things are getting crazier out there every day! We’ve had to learn a whole new language ….. live a whole new way with new rules and restrictions. The finish line changes from week to week. We don’t know who we can trust ….. or whose agenda is running the show! And I for one am confused as to which Greek letter we are up to now🤔 But one thing I do know is that Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega ….. the first and the last ….. the beginning and the end. His blood is able to protect and to heal ….. to prevent and to cure. His Word and Promises are ‘Yes and Amen’! His ‘agenda’ is the only agenda that matters. He is trustworthy ….. faithful ….. and all powerful. His boundaries are permanent and for our highest good. His ‘yes’ means ‘yes’ ….. and His ‘no’ means ‘no’! He came to earth to bring peace and light at a time of utter darkness. It’s time to let Him shine! 

Wisdom from Water Lillies

Sue’s Views
The water lily has a couple of secrets that we would do well to learn from. Firstly ….. they don’t allow themselves to go ‘under the circumstances’. They just let them roll off so they stay afloat. Secondly ….. they are anchored to the strong foundation from which they receive life giving oxygen. Great advice for us all!

And the Award Goes To …..

As another school year comes to an end ….. it’s good to see students rewarded for their efforts. It has been a challenging year to say the least for teachers ….. parents ….. and children. But you have made it through! Congratulations! This year’s awards are mainly given for things like helpfulness ….. perseverance ….. encouragement to others. Excelling in maths or science may get you a great job ….. but these qualities will determine a great life and a ‘Well done’ from the One who matters the most. 
2 Timothy 4:7-8 
‘I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.’

Celebrate Each Day!

Forgive me for posting so many pics of my grandies ….. but I learn so much from them and they inspire so many of my posts. This one of Asaph reminds me how helpless I am without God. I am weak and fragile ….. but He is my strength and my life. It also reminds me that every day of my life is written in God’s journal ….. and therefore is important to celebrate. This day will never come back again! To all the new Mums out there ….. and Mums to be ….. know how vitally important you are. Your child relies on you. Right now it may seem like hard work ….. but ….. believe me ….. the rewards are coming!

Choose Love

Emotions can be fickle things! They can change with the weather ….. they can be intense one moment and then subside the next. We sometimes refer to having a love/hate relationship with someone or something. In any relationship ….. we can find things we love and things we don’t love! But love is so much more that a feeling. It’s a choice! The next time you feel that icy ….. prickly feeling creeping over you ….. choose love!
Here’s some great advice from Philippians 4:8
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.”
I love how it says ‘If anything …..’! Sometimes we have to look really hard ….. but there is always something to love!

Light in the Darkness

Parliament today passed a law that renders birth certificates as meaningless, and which continues the relentless push to nullify biological sex, and the scientific accuracy of male and female. How many more ‘laws’ are going to be passed that totally obliterate God’s laws? The God ….. who created everything out of nothing ….. and set this universe in motion sits in the heavens and laughs at man’s attempt to override Him. 
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”John 1:5

Chores Can Be Fun

I had to laugh when Maverick started sweeping the floor yesterday with his headphones on! He has already learned the art of making hard work enjoyable. Of course the headphones were not connected to anything! But he was happy with the music inside his head. Mundane chores are a great opportunity to praise ….. sing ….. and pray. Not only do you connect with God ….. the work gets done before you realise it.

Time Flies

2021 is flying by and in just three weeks it will be in the past! It will no doubt be a very significant year in the history books of the future. But I wonder what they will say! History consists of eras ….. years ….. and moments. Of choices and decisions that determine the future. Let’s not allow 2021 to be remembered for the ‘C’ word ….. or the ‘V’ word ….. but let it be remembered as the year that changed history for the better.

Psalm 139

Sue’s Views
Are the worries of this world keeping you awake at night? Stress and anxiety lie at the root of many physical and mental diseases. We can’t avoid stressful situations ….. but we can learn to view them from a different perspective. One of my ‘go to’ scriptures is Psalm 139. It addresses everything that causes anxiety. Much of it comes from our internal processing ….. low self esteem ….. identity issues ….. fear of abandonment.
It also deals with the external challenges by assuring us of God’s presence and protection wherever we go. 
Have a read ….. and put your name in the psalm.

You have searched me, Lord,
    and you know me.
 You know when I sit and when I rise;
    you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
    you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
    you, Lord, know it completely.

Two Kinds of Wisdom

According to James 3:16-17 ….. there are two kinds of wisdom. One that comes from bitter envy and selfish ambition. It’s the kind that has to prove itself right even if that requires some dodgy dealings. 
“For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.”
Then there is Godly wisdom. Look at the qualities listed here. 
“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.”
It’s a wisdom that only seeks the truth. It’s willing to submit ….. considers other opinions ….. and above all seeks to make peace. We have the choice of reaping a harvest of disorder and division ….. or a harvest of righteousness and unity.
