King of Kings!

Sue’s Views
I’m thinking of our family and loved ones in Fiji and in other parts of the world where democracy seems to have become obsolete! Where it has become difficult to trust our leaders ….. and where things like honesty and integrity have lost their meaning. But ….. remember ….. God sits in Heaven and laughs at their vain attempts to overrule Him! That will never happen! Yes ….. things will be difficult and will probably get worse ….. but let’s keep our eyes and hearts on the One who cares the most for our Nations and people. And the One who has the power to raise up and bring down leaders who mock Him. He is the King of Kings and the Leader of all leaders! Be encouraged!
Psalm 2 says:
‘Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together
    against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
“Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.”
The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.
He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
 “I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”’

Psalm 91

Sue’s Views
With so much sickness ….. violence ….. and craziness going on around us ….. here’s a reminder of who we are and who our God is!
Psalm 91
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
    nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
    and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
    you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”

What Will You Be Remembered For?

Sue’s Views
Yesterday we attended the funeral of a long time friend. Amongst the sadness of the occasion ….. there was much joy in reconnecting with old friends ….. and learning more about the lady who is now enjoying her new home. Death can come so suddenly ….. and can leave the loved ones reeling. Listening to the beautiful tributes ….. I started to wonder what would be said at my funeral! Each day we live is like a building block towards a life that will be remembered. I’d better start living the life I would like to be remembered for! Hmmmmm ……

Angel’s Trumpets

Sue’s Views
This tree is commonly known as ‘Angel’s Trumpets’. In the book of Revelation ….. we read about the seven trumpets that will be blown by seven angels ….. each pronouncing a different judgement upon the earth during the Great Tribulation. The attrocities we are seeing daily across our world are a result of people who have turned their backs on God. The fact is that there is a day coming when those who have done so will be judged and severely punished for their disobedience. But God has provided a way for us to avoid that punishment by putting our trust in Jesus Christ ….. who took our punishment Himself. What an amazing act of love and mercy! God is waiting patiently for you to respond because He doesn’t want anyone to die in their sins. Will you do so?

Time Pressure

Sue’s Views
One of the major causes of stress is time pressure. When we feel like we have too much to do ….. and too little time to do it! Eccles 3:1 says “There is ….. time for every purpose under heaven”. Ask yourself ….. “Is what I’m doing initiated by God ….. or is it because of other people’s expectations ….. or my inability to say ‘No!’ He is not obligated to bless the stuff He didn’t purpose! Food for thought!

Congratulations!

It’s celebration season with graduations and end of year break ups. Some will receive certificates or trophies ….. the majority won’t. Most of us fall into the ‘average’ column! But whether you pass with honours ….. just scrape through ….. or even fail the exams ….. God sees you and has a plan for your life. Don’t let your school reports determine your future ….. and don’t let your awards ….. or lack of ….. determine your value or potential. Seek to be the best ‘you’ you can be ….. and ask God to show you how to fulfil His purpose for your life. Congratulations on finishing what has been a challenging year! You did great!

The Narrow Path

Sue’s Views
There are times in life when there is no visible path. Does it mean you are going the wrong way ….. or just that few have taken the journey before you? The clear, well beaten track is always the most popular. But ‘it’s the narrow path that leads to life and few find it.’ We are called to walk by faith and not by sight. The question is ….. did God initiate the journey? If so ….. you can move ahead with absolute assurance that He will lead you to your destination.

Thank God For Rain!

Sue’s Views
We often don’t appreciate something until we have to go without it! Rain is a good example. Having gone through many summers of drought and water restrictions ….. we have come to be thankful for rain. The first reaction is often a negative one ….. but when you think about it ….. rain is a gift from God and a blessing! Next time you complain about something or someone ….. think what life would be like without them!

Jesus Be The Centre

Sue’s Views
Just a reminder today of what Jesus did for us on the Cross!
Do you know someone who is sick ….. troubled with guilt ….. struggling with pain? Jesus died for all of that so that we might be healed. Whether it’s physical …..emotional ….. mental ….. or spiritual ….. Jesus paid it all. Repent of your sins ….. believe in Jesus and let Him be the centre of your life!

Stay In Your Lane!

Sue’s Views
The race is on! So much to do ….. so many things to prepare for ….. it’s easy to get distracted. We had a near miss last night when a car going in the opposite direction suddenly veered into our lane. Please be careful out there ….. and slow down. May God send His angels to watch over and protect you all. And please ….. stay in your own lane!
